Whatchado

Whatchado

Whatchado is an Austrian online career platform based in Vienna, which sees itself as the handbook of life stories. The name comes from the American slang “whatchado” for the question: “What do you do?“. The idea is to support young people in their professional orientation by being presented online video interviews of various professionals.

In this form, whatchado has produced over 4,000 video Stories (as of October 2015). Each interviewee answers the same seven questions around their career path and current job. Based on these data, the video users are proposed videos of interviewees which have the same interests. In addition, if the user is interested in a job profile, he or she is simultaneously suggested appropriate current job advertisements.

For business partners, it is possible to set up their own business page as a channel on whatchado and embed the interviews of their employees on the company’s website or Facebook page and thus present their company to their audience. Key aspects in the concept are the authenticity of the interviewees and the realistic representation of many existing diverse professions and career transitions. This platform covers many job profiles and interviews people of all hierarchical levels. Recently, as part of their expansion strategy and to get closer to everyone, whatchado has launched this year the “whatchado Story Recorder“, with which anyone can record their own story with a webcam and microphone and put it online on whatchado; and also introduced the “whatchado Job Stories” app.
